Crystal Palace have started the season with six points from a possible nine. The side have spent big in the summer bringing in most notably Yohann Cabaye, a player who worked under Alan Pardew at Newcastle, but who picked up some Champions League experience in between at PSG.
Palace travel to Chelsea on Saturday with the Champions having picked up their first win of the season with a close 3-2 victory over West Brom last season. Chelsea started the season terribly with one point from their opening two games but with the signing of Pedro they enjoyed a much needed win. Pedro scored and got an assist whilst at the over end John Terry was sent off.
Chelsea are in the hunt for over £100 million worth of player in John Stones and Paul Pogba but neither are likely to come in before the weekend. The side that sets up against Palace will be similar but with Kurt Zouma starting alongside Gary Cahill. Terry of course is suspended.
Palace aren’t dealing with the same sort of figures but as stated have had a decent summer themselves, spending £7.5 million on Connor Wickham. Crystal Palace also signed another notable deal, not with a player, but with their new sponsors Mansion Casino.
Palace definitely won’t be pushovers and will be expecting to give Chelsea a tough game. Chelsea on the other hand cannot afford another slip up following their terrible start to the season. With the season so fresh, Chelsea can leap-frog Palace in the league with a victory, even if it is only early days. Patrick Bamford, on loan from Chelsea, will be unavailable for this tie. Other than that Palace will go into the game feeling they can get something but will be wise to beware of the wounded animal that Chelsea are right now.
Prediction: Home win
