The north London derby stands out this week but spurs await the daunting task of going to their rivals having only won 1 of their last 22 trips to Arsenal. One man looking to wave his wizardry wand on this game will be Ozil as he looks to add to his 9 assists and help Giroud add to his goal scoring streak of scoring 5 in his last 7. Spurs fans have every reason to feel some optimism as they extended their unbeaten run with a fine performance against the Villains last week, (W5 D5 L0) however this could be a step too far.
Ones To Watch
Matt Ritchie- A game where 3 points for either side will be useful, this Scottish winger can make all the difference for the cherries. He hasn’t quite adjusted to the standards of the premier league but the wonder strike against Sunderland definitely gives us encouragement that this man has the ability to change games. Injuries have struck Bournemouth too early in this campaign but now given the spot light to perform, assists or goals could be on the cards against a Newcastle side that have won none and lost 10 of their last 12 Premier League away games, scoring just three goals in that run.
Christian Benteke- Momentum is crucial in football, its slowly starting to swing the reds way after what was a poor start to the season. Liverpool should be full of encouragement after dismantling the champions at the bridge, its three wins on the trot in all competitions too and this weekend should see their first win at Anfield in the league under Klopp. Benteke may only have 4 goals this season but not only is he a handful for most defences he’s also Klopp’s only genuine striker that’s fit. Playing in front of a buoyant kop end will fill him with confidence not to mention, the improvements in creative qualities from Firminho and Coutinho to provide him with the key passes to fire in goals.
Vincent Kompany- Man City has managed to keep 6 clean sheets this season and 7 could be on the cards as they travel to the villains who can’t seem to win. He may be a little pricey but could be worth it in the long run should he stay fit as he always seems to be crucial to city’s title charge. A threat from set pieces, he has the ability to score crucial goals and pick up bonus points. Clean sheet points are on offer for City players this week but a cheaper alternative could be Bakary Sagna who plays at right back in an attacking formation with all the potential to gain assists especially with the aerial threat from Bony.
