In celebration of the 2015/16 season Spreadex created a microsite on the history of the Premier League. Spreadex have illustrated the kit from five key periods in the history of all 20 clubs as well as giving fans a brief overview of why each kit makes us feel so nostalgic.
For a few of the smaller clubs who’s history may not be as glamorous as some of the country’s most successful clubs, we enlisted the help of some fan bloggers to help us find periods in the clubs history that the fans remember fondly.
The last historical Chelsea kit is from their 2011/12 Champions League winning season. This was the first and only time The Blues have lifted the trophy and is arguably the greatest moment in the clubs history.
The fourth kit on Manchester United’s list is from 1999 when the ‘class of 92’ secured a historic FA Cup, league and European Cup treble. By the end of the 1998/99 season United had cemented their place as the World’s richest football club and the most valuable sporting brand worldwide.
