Top of the league Chelsea travel to Burnley this weekend to face one of their toughest tests this season. They must overcome Burnley’s incredible home form and tight knit side to secure all three points.

The Clarets have won nine out of their last ten games at Turf Moor and it is this home form that could see them finish in the top half. New signing Robbie Brady could be set to start following his £13 million-pound move from Norwich, after coming off the bench in the defeat at Watford.

Jeff Hendrick will miss the game after being sent off at Vicarage Road whilst midfielder Steven Defour looks set to miss out with a hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas is pushing for a place in Chelsea’s starting eleven after getting a goal from the bench in the win against his former side, Arsenal. Antonio Conte has admitted recently that David Luiz and Eden Hazard have been playing with knocks recently so the Italian may rest them for this fixture.

Chelsea’s form this season has been staggering and they are looking like they are cantering to the title. They have won 15 of their last 17 games in all competitions and are currently sitting pretty with a nine-point cushion over nearest rivals Tottenham.

Having said that, they have faltered away from home slightly in recent weeks, failing to win two of their last three away games. They have only failed to score in two away games this season, the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal and the 2-0 defeat to Spurs.

In contrast to this Burnley have kept four clean sheets in a row at Turf Moor, a basis that has seen them win their last seven. Sean Dyche’s side have been extremely difficult to play against at home with only Manchester City, Arsenal and to Swansea on the opening day of the season.

Burnley must overcome history to gain all three points however, as they haven’t beaten Chelsea in the league since 1973. The Blues of course are high on confidence and will be hoping for yet another three points but if Conte decides to rest a couple of his key players and underestimate this Burnley side then I feel the home side could get a result.

Burnley’s form at Turf Moor this season has been nothing short of spectacular. An electric atmosphere and well organised defence will prove a tough test for Chelsea to break down and as they commit more men forward, the hosts could be given opportunities to catch them on the break.
