Its official. Jurgen Klopp, the self professed ‘normal one’, has joined Liverpool. Perhaps what Liverpool fans will most appreciate about Klopp is his ability to get the best out of limited players. Even so, one should still expect a couple of new signings either in January or during the summer. And given the ex Borussia Dortmund manager’s time spent in the German top flight Borussia Dortmund, a host of his signings could come from there. Here is a trio of Borussia Dortmund players that Klopp would do well to sign.

Marco Reus

Marco Reus has been linked with a Premiership move for sometime now. With Klopp in charge at Anfield, Reus might feel a little less reluctant to make the switch. Tactically speaking, the German international would fit perfectly into the Liverpool squad. As of now, Klopp’s side are bereft of a player with both speed and technical brilliance and that is exactly what Reus offers. His ability to beat his man over short or long stretches is unrivalled in the current Liverpool team. Versatility is another aspect Reus would offer Liverpool. The fleet footed 26 year old normally plies his trade out wide, but his keen eye for goal makes him a more than adequate option up top.

Ilkay Gundogan

Another player who seemed destined for the Premier League was midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. Nevertheless, Gundogan would still be an excellent addition to any Premier League side. The midfield maestro possesses an excellent passing range and unlike so many midfielders in the modern day, Gundogan has the ability to play killer balls in behind the defense. While not being the paciest, the Dortmund midfielder makes up for it with fine close control, allowing him to beat his man with skill rather than power. Gundogan’s skillset and class is something that is very unique to a Liverpool midfield consisting of James Milner and Jordan Henderson. As such, Liverpudlian fan base would undoubtedly welcome a great talent like him.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

The past few months have seen Liverpool struggle for any sort of consistency up front. Following Luis Suarez’s departure, an enormous, empty void was left in attack. Sturridge could very well have lessened the blow, however, constant struggles with injuries did not allow this to happen. Perhaps Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is the very striker Liverpool have been missing. Given his outstanding speed, many have underestimated Aubameyang’s more skillful attributes. Begun his season by notching an impressive ten goals already in the Bundesliga. To put that into perspective for you, his total is just two shy of Robert Lewandowski’s. Aubameyang’s many strengths include speedy dribbling, decent dead ball ability, as well as a strong aerial presence. In more ways than one he is the complete forward and would almost certainly thrive at Anfield.
